I started window cleaning before I left school in the mid to late 80s with a friend of mine who lived in the next street to me. We cleaned neighbour’s houses and a few houses on nearby streets just at weekends. All we started with was my friends Dad’s ladder a bucket and a couple of cloths.
Starting WorkWhen I left school I worked for a couple of local window cleaning companies but always kept my weekend round.
Keeping The Old Round
As my round built up by my early twenties I decided to bite the bullet and work full time for myself. As luck would have it within 12 months our town centre was re-generated and Portland Walk was opened. I secured a lot of the outlets that came into our town and this really set me on my way.
Growing The Business
Sometime later I started to employ and really build my business up. I have now over 25 years experience of commercial window cleaning and also cover some residential areas in the Barrow in Furness area.
Above Tony and Jack Woodburn, ready with the new generation.
In the last few years we have took advantage of the new window cleaning techniques available to us which includes ladderless window cleaning (reach & wash system) which allows us to reach certain height more safely.
